The geology across Europe is obviously hugely varied, with each area providing its own set of unique challenges when it comes to mapping. The travel and living expenses can increase or decrease depending on where you decide to go, but the huge variety of possible climates, topographies and rock types means that there is certainly somewhere to suit any group - whether you want to bake in the sun or ascend high into the mountains, reconstruct relative sea level changes in sedimentary basins or the understand the structural histories of complex mountain chains!
